I have never had a problem bleeding brakes with a spliter and never had a banjo bolt loosen.
Now I am kinda new at this, I only have worked on this stuff for 25 years or so.

Agreed! I have the master to caliper set up on all my bikes. 3 have Speigler lines. I'm sure some people feel the same way about remote reservoir clutch/brake masters.

Not yet Craig. I have yet to get the fairing repainted: http://www.precisionmotorcyclepainting.com/  $440 for factory Stormy Red and Quartz Silver, dark blue stripe and 2 hand rubbed coats of clear.  I think that's a fair price quote from these guys considering the paint alone would cost ~$160

  With my '84 apart, I still have my '92 to ride.

Physically I'm all healed except my left hand (dislocated thumb) I'm good for about 6-10 pulls on the clutch before the pain comes and I loose strength.

I have to say I was never a big fan of the 84/85 FJ's BUT Pat's is the nicest one I have ever seen. Not kissing ass...just a compliment from a discerning eye. Oh..wait a minute....I don't mind urine cups and 2 line brake systems. Nevermind.

You can use bolts with crush washers in place of the original AD banjo bolts.

perhaps a dumb question, but...what size bolts?

Hey Pat,

Did the place that is going to paint your fairing also repair it?  I have a few small cracks in mine and when the time comes for me to take the bike apart and make everything bright and shiny again I'd like to send the fairing out, get the cracks fixed and get it repainted in the stock '84 colors.

Also, how much is it going to cost to send it out to them?  South bend is closer to me (About 750 miles door to door) but the fairing isn't the smallest thing in the world.

P.S.-I'm glad that you're healing up.  Its a long, painful path back to good health after you've been broken up in an accident.  I spent a decent part of my 20's disproving my own long held belief that I was 10 foot tall and bulletproof;  A broken tailbone, one shoulder, wrist, collarbone and elbow and 275 stitches later I can confidently say that I am indeed neither that tall nor that impervious to injury!
