Anybody riding in from Mid-atlantic get in touch if you want company.  I'll be heading out early Wed morning around 6am.. Roughly itinerary is to be around Danville Va by 9a, Asheville NC by 12-1p, Robbinsville 2-3pm, Tellico by 4-5..

Still trying to arrange things so I can go. Most likely I will be driving down thursday and leaving sunday but I may be able to push things up a day or so. As far as the working on the bike thing... I will be racing at Beaverun in Pennsylvania the weekend before the rally so I will have to convert the bike back to street trim before leaving....

rule #5 on fj rallies:  DO NOT DISCUSS THE WEATHER THE WEEK OR DAYS BEFORE THE RALLY.

along the same lines:  DO NOT DO ANY WORK ON YOUR BIKE THAT WILL SCREW IT UP BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET PARTS IN TIME AFTER YOU'VE STRIPPED THEM OUT.

that is all.

Also never pack rain gear.. that will make it rain every time.

OH, now I understand! Not only do I not pack rain gear.....I don't even own rain gear! Well except for the liner in my jacket....does that count?

Got the oil changed in the FJ and washed her up tonight.
Painted a new, aftermarket fiberglas belly scoop over the Labor Day weekend.
I'll put that on Sunday afternoon.
Just need to pack a few things and wait for Tuesday morning, and I'll be on my way!

we are a week out from the rally, give or take.  if you haven't called for a reservation, you better do it, they won't hold any open cabins much longer.  make sure to mention my name (dean naramore) or the fj rally when you call, as they have all the cabins saved in my name.  but any cabins that aren't taken within the next few days, they'll open up to anyone.  you've been warned!

fwiw, the koa emailed me a couple days ago asking if anyone else was going to reserve, as they'd gotten inquiries from the public, so told them to go ahead and open up any remaining kabins (two, a 2-room and a regular) to the general public.
