don't forget the BRP up to mt pisgah.. epic!

don't forget your dark faceshield w/clear glasses, so you can see when you go thru the many tunnells (for those of us who usually ride w/clear shield & dark sunglasses)  :good2:

I like that adrenaline rush of riding 60mph through a solid rock tunnel - and suddenly going blind as a bat.

we usually decide about 10 minutes before hopping on the bikes.  seriously.  usually carey is the "leader" of one group; hoffman often times does his own thing or will lead a group; i'm not sure who leads the more casual rides.

Hey Nancy I have my Stepfather and stepbrother coming with me this year and they will be in the slow group with you Friday and Saturday. They have both been riding bikes for many years(dirt bikes and street bikes) but dont have much of an interest to keep up with my impatience of things slow. Anyways, I would be honored if you and Nancy would take them under your wing.  :good2:

Always Jim! As someone in our group says on a regular basis "It's all good!" And if me and Nancy G hear the pool at the campground calling our name and come home early, my Jeff will ride till they are ready to quit.

He's out today changing oil in my FJ. And I have a new instrument cluster that he's going to try and put in. Let's see if that stops the bouncing speedometer.

Anybody have an idea what the weather is looking like for the week of the rally?
Looks like this latest gulf storm is creating a mess that is moving inland.
I just hope it clears up soon.

rule #5 on fj rallies:  DO NOT DISCUSS THE WEATHER THE WEEK OR DAYS BEFORE THE RALLY.

along the same lines:  DO NOT DO ANY WORK ON YOUR BIKE THAT WILL SCREW IT UP BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET PARTS IN TIME AFTER YOU'VE STRIPPED THEM OUT.

that is all.

we are a week out from the rally, give or take.  if you haven't called for a reservation, you better do it, they won't hold any open cabins much longer.  make sure to mention my name (dean naramore) or the fj rally when you call, as they have all the cabins saved in my name.  but any cabins that aren't taken within the next few days, they'll open up to anyone.  you've been warned!

Yea well I tried to tell the SO that part and he's not listening. Still waiting for tires and something else....oh yea, carb sticks. He's getting a real carb stick thingie and bringing it with him to the rally. So someone will need to show him how to use it! So along about Thurs/Fri night at this household things will get real interesting as he decides which bike to bring.

Me, there ain't no option. My little black FJ is coming with me and my dawg!

Still trying to arrange things so I can go. Most likely I will be driving down thursday and leaving sunday but I may be able to push things up a day or so. As far as the working on the bike thing... I will be racing at Beaverun in Pennsylvania the weekend before the rally so I will have to convert the bike back to street trim before leaving....
