I was riding home from work last friday and bike just went dead.  Engine cut off and everything except the clock.  I just put a new battery in the day before.  I'm thinking that it was the cause because it was one size bigger than the one that I had.  Tried jumping it, but nothing.  Bypassed the starter and that worked but still not firing.  Checked fuses but didn't see any burnt out.  I feel that maybe a wire came loose or went bad because halway home the while on the throttle the bike stopped and then went right back to power then stopped and went right back but never cut off. The next time it did the same thing but just cut off.  What or where should i start looking and what possibly caused it?

Could be the cut off/kill switch on the right handlebar.  Open it up and try some contact cleaner in there.  Happened to me, might be the same problem.

Hi I would start by testing the connection to the CDI relay which is found
left side(sitting on bike) behind fairing adjacent  to the flasher relay. You will have
to remove air scoop for access. If all ok work your way through all connector blocks on the
wiring harness.Tedious I know but, it is electrickery. :empathy:

Side stand switch may also be the culprit.
