I bought a new 1993 FJ 1200 abs with 7 miles on it in 1995 in southern Maine.  Moved around New England some and am now in Merrimac, Mass.  I have not ridden the FJ much in about 4 years for 2 reasons. 1. I got a BMW 1150gs adventure, and 2 I have been in the process of changing the slave clutch and come to find out one of the bolts is stripped.  The has prolonged me getting the bike on the road.  Glad to be here and is motivtion to get my FJ on the road.

Welcome to the FJ Forum.  Good to have another Mad-town native on board.  Not surprising though, it seemed like everyone had a bike growing up. Someone else was bound to get an FJ.   I was just up there last weekend and checked out the 4 corners park

but missed the bike speed trials at Loring.

As for your stripped slave bolt, I've had to service the slave on my FJ, however did not have to deal with a stripped bolt.  It seems to me someone has run into this \problem before.  Post your dilemma under "Running Problems" on the forum.  I'm sure you'll get some good advise.

Welcome to the group!

It's always good to have another long timer on board.

Slave for the clutch has 3 bolts one threads into the sprocket cover.(easiest one to strip)Either try a helicoil in the cover or replace the sprocket cover if its that bolt hole.If its one of the other 2 bolt holes then you could use a helicoil.
My sprocket cover bolt hole is stripped on my 1200 PO  had the wrong bolt in there that came through and hit the chain.I have not had time to fix it yet but its working fine with just 2 bolts for now.
Best way to fix mine is a new sprocket cover.

Welcome here, by the way.  The big Beemer (sit on) is quite a different animal than the FJ (sit in).

Both days................and both loops are pretty scenic, not sure if we have made up our minds on which loop we are doing Sat. and which one Sun.

It's funny you just chimed in on this, Yesterday I was just telling Bob W. that we don't have anyone coming from Mass.

Hope to see ya there.
