No more parts?

Hi Everyone,

I'm a former Yahoo list member, who's back now that I've gotten myself into trouble. :(

I was removing a broken left bracket (to which the exhaust and pegs are are bolted), and in doing so managed to shatter into many many small pieces the pivot bolt that the clutch lever is attached to. It's Yamaha part # 90109-086E4-00, and all my usual spots (local bike shops, Zanotti's) don't have it and say they can't get it. I've checked out the XJR parts but don't see an equivalent.

My bike is an '84 - but the part seems common to all FJs. Does anyone know of a similar part that's widely available (or where to find one of these gems?). I have an annual pilgrimage to Montreal for a smoked meat sandwich coming up next week, and it looks like I'm in trouble if I can't find something this week!

Thanks,

Graeme

Life's pretty straight without twisties.

Hey 747,

That's the one - but they don't actually have the part. It seems like a bunch of sites just show the whole Yamaha catalog as available, but when you place an order (or as I eventually learned, call in an order to avoid getting charged in the first place) - they can't get it. I spoke with the boats.net folks yesterday... :( I'm going to try a bunch of local salvage shops that have 'buckets of unclassified bolts' and have recently torn down an FJ...

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Graeme

Isn't the clutch lever on the left handlebar?

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Yes - said clutch meant shift. :( Brain not feel right.
