Pillion back rest and after market levers

Well my missus sits pillion most of the time I am out on the bike, and she wants a back rest!
I am waiting on a custom moulded saddle for her and that might make a big difference.
Some folks said to put cushioning on the bag rack but its round bar and not as strong as square bar so I wont do that.
Im not going to buy a Corbin seat for many reasons.
So... the only answer I can think up is to buy some spare pillion grab handles and fabricate an aluminium frame (upside down U bar) to put a proper back rest on. Any thoughts?

As to brtake and cluthc levers, Id like to put some nice fancy levers on (coloured) but I cannot find anyone that makes them.
A couple of options:
Get a second set and get them powder coated or anodized blue - I dont know how successfulo this would be
Or find out if any of the newer bikes use the same levers and get after markets that are made by pazzo or similar

Ideas appreciated

Backrest attached to the grab handles should work, but you may need to find a way to triangulate some support if she intends to rely on it keeping her on the seat.
You may be just as well off finding replacement clutch and brake mastercylinders from another bike and then get 'flash' colored levers to fit them.  Especially if you intend on replacing your brakes with the blue/gold spot brakes.

Cheers,
