Reid,

What luggage are you using?  Givi or some other one?  If it's a Givi wingrack your looking for, I can do that for you.  Just exactly what details are you needing?

I've been kicking around an idea of removing the grab rail and fabricating some sort of top case holder that replaces it.  Could also double as a passenger back rest.  It wouldn't be too difficult to make it.  I'm not sure if it could actually support any weight.

I'm beginning to find it hard to believe that no one out of all the members could come up with some pixs or measurements or anything at all. Not being mad or indigent but still.

Fairly sure at least some of these are posted in another thread, but what's a little more bandwidth, right?

I figured maybe indignantly indigent, else he'd just try to buy the mounts... maybe Kurt has some he's holding back.

Hey thanks, those pictures are going to help too.  I had the mono-rack on but it cracked both turn signal tabs after many years.  I just re-welded them back on this morning and am planning on mounting the wing rack tonight.  I only have the top case but I think I can use the side mounts to support a set of soft bags I have until I can score a decent deal on some side cases.

Cheers,

Most of the other vintage sport bike nuts I know are engineers as well (sorry, I'm a simple IT geek / statistics guy) - perhaps I can re-state the question - does anyone have an AutoCad or SolidWorks rendering of a bag mounting system for an FJ1100/FJ1200?  I'd like to mount some BMW hard cases on my '84 FJ1100 - if no one else has renderings I'll take some measurements, do some calculations, hit AutoCad for a couple of hours, feed the CAD to a local machine shop and publish the results (pics and .dwg's).  However, being the lazy bastard that I am (hell, it took five stabs at my dissertation) I'd rather that someone else had created the .dwg files ....

I fit a Rentec (?) for the top case, and a genuine Givi rack from a ZZR somethin-r-other for the sides (drilled and tapped the grab rail otherwise it was a bolt on).  I use Givi knock-offs but real Givi stuff would fit too.  Top case works excellent as a back rest under full kookaloo...  Does this help?

Sorry i don't have any pictures, but i bolted a set of custom bag brackets i made onto the tail. You know im not using them anymore if you want them( you have to pay shipping). they are two piece brakcets. the small piece mounts inside the rear fender and can't be seen without looking up into the fender. the second parts bolt to it and hook into the upper strap loop. its ugly, but really strong and could be changed to fit hard bags. I currently have some soft bags on it.
