I had emailed Joann at the KOA in Boone and thanked her for having us up there yet again....here's her reply

"Hey Nancy - As always it is our pleasure to have you camp with us.  I am glad you had some great weather in between the rain.  You all take care and we will be looking forward to next year.  I am going to set up everyone's reservations - I think for the third week - is that correct?   Happy Riding...Joann"

Now that's a GREAT KOA, an owner that goes ahead and knows we'll be back and to make our reservations...

Is it safe to assume that the ECSR will be May 15-20 this year? If so, I've requested that week off!!! If not, I'll have to adjust my schedule accordingly.

Figured that.. Same here.   

The numbers are not good.  4000 mile round-trip.  Even if I take 9 days that means 5 days driving my ass off for 4 days of riding.  Compared to Boone, pure riding.  (and Macado's)

I plan on doing both. Logistics for Colorado are unknown at this time but if I do Colorado its gonna have to be with at least one other driver.

I will be going - from Baltimore, south through Leesburg to Charlottesville, and then west to Afton Mountain and down BRP.

Not a camper - does anybody know of any decent hotels near Boone?

Are there any rides that go down to Ashville?  My older daughter and my son-in-law have announced they are going to move there with grandkids someday.  So I need to go see the town I will be moving to.
