is there anyone, anyone on this list that doesn't believe the patriot is a long-standing lister just trolling for shits and giggles?
my vote is for mazz.

I asked that same question a while back (at the time I think I accused Klavdy) -I get dibbs on the credit if it turns out to be Henry, etc.  :)

Marsh, can't you do some sort of techie gobledy-gook searching to figure out if this knucklehead is for real?

To Patriot or "Patriot" -as the case may be.

If by some strange twist on reality, you are not someone else in disguise, I really think there are other places on the net that are more to your liking, do you feel any sense of fellowship here?  This is a group of people drawn together out of admiration and respect for a machine and for each other.  I just don't see any of that from, or to you.

Most folks here are already, or will soon be tired of your ranting, shouting (and for that matter, your poor grammar and spelling)  Hell man, the Google tool bar will show you your spelling mistakes right on the screen –right clicking shows you correct replacement options.

My point: There are lots of lists out there that will welcome your brand of vitriol.  Please go to one of those, and leave this one?

Amen, brother! :yahoo:

P.S. I'm a registered Republican, not a "hippy." I leave giving the Country away to the liberals.

P.P.S. Limeys come from the UK, and to go "down there," one would have to begin at the Arctic Circle. Unless one was referring to Australians, but Limey is not the correct ethnic slur for Aussies; I'm not sure what is, but I'm also not interested in insulting my brothers down under.

Dan,

Yes I can, and I have.  That is why The PATRIOT is not banned.  I am certain there is some FJ knowledge there...

Hey Mike........lets just stick with Convict Scum............insult away mate.....we're pretty thick skinned down this way
I think someone needs to do a bit more research about WW2 (and not just in the Pacific)

That is one thing I noticed about the Aussies.  They haven't given up their balls in the name of Political Correctness.  It's something that most of America has lost because of P.C.  Ohh.. You can't say anything because you might "offend" someone.

If you are that easily offended then grow some thicker skin.

Dan, I'm not agreeing (or disagreeing, for that matter) with anything said here, but that's the beauty of this sort of board...  if this thread bothers you, don't read it!   Just move on to another one!

It's really easy to do.

Mike,

Not sure if "limey" wouldn't be considered a slur by most Aussies, as would "Kiwi" :-).  You could try "Ocker", but as with 'rednecks' those who are would probably consider it a compliment :-)  Best way to insult and upset most Aussies would be to have a piss-up and not invite them.

Cheers,
Arnie

Yeah, I suppose. But honestly, I'm not the type to insult anybody. At least I'm learning how to avoid pissing you guys off.

It's amazing to me how popular this bike is "down under." When I graduated high school in the late 80's, this was the bike to own. Too bad it took me 20+ years to get around to owning one.

Harvy-

I do hope that 'someone' does not refer to me?  Australia was of course heavily involved in WW2, in North Africa, and in throughout Europe, but the Japanese did bomb the hell out of Darwin.  The did this with an eye towards gaining access to new guinea, which they held for a quite a while.  My quip about Australians speaking Japanese was not entirely unfounded.  The Japanese empire was formidable long about 1942:

Knocking a bit close on the Australian door -no?

The war in the South Pacific was not a sure thing for the Allies.  Were it not for the bomb, the war would have ground on for many more years and it's not clear to me that the allies were guaranteed a victory.  Had Hiroshima and Nagasaki not been nuked, the Allies might have lost, or at least lost the will to fight and ceded the hemisphere to the Japanese.  If the European war had ended in 1944, and the South Pacific ground on in to say 1948, or 1950, I think a strategic withdrawal is not beyond the fray of possibilities.  Were that to have happened, 40 years of Japanese rule, 4 or so generations, hell yeah there be a whole lot more Japanese speaking convicts just about now.

I can see it now, "Domo arigato -mate!"

Game on.

Dan, just a quick FYI: you can "Modify" your own posts after posting them.  There is like a 1 1/2 minute window even where it won't post the "post modified on" message at the bottom.  Call it a Grace Period if you will...
