So my gauge cluster is kinda busted and yea so id like to replace it. Same with the headlight assembly.

I've been looking at a couple different ones and have narrowed it down to 1 headlight assembly and 1 gauge.
Can I get your alls opinion on these? maybe you guys know some better choices?

So you are making your FJ a Streetfighter? As in no fairing. Naked.

Ask Marsh to post some picts of his Bat Bike for you to look at. Kinda cool what he did with his headlight.

Personally, I don't like the look of the Moose headlamp assembly. It looks like a alien. But then again, you're 20 and I'm 58.

The speedo/tach assembly will only work if you convert over to a electric speedometer. You currently have a mechanical speedometer.
You need to run a pickup on your front wheel and a sensor (w/wires) on your lower fork tube for the electric speedo.

Cheers!   Pat

eh yea kinda ha.

i mean i already know that the fairing wont fit on the 91 since they an 87.

in general i want something simple but looks good at the same time!

now that speedo gauge says it comes with the speedo sensor, is that what your talking about, but sounds like there is more to what i need from what your saying.

This isnt going to be a fast upgrade, i prolly wont do it for another month or so. but the headlamp i do need.

No, it should come complete,  w/sensor, pickup, wires, etc...

In general, be careful with Bike Bandit. Just because they show something they say "fits a FJ1200" doesn't mean it actually fits.....
IOW it is not necessarily plug and play.  IOW anything can be made to fit it you have a Saws-All and a oxy acetylene torch.....

Oh yea, check their prices....There is a reason they are named Bike Bandit....

Cheers!  Pat (who as you can tell, is not a fan of Bike Bandit)

Any recommendations for aftermarket parts like that and OEM parts sites?

but hard to find aftermarket....

The Koso gauge cluster is great, we used that one on an ST1300 fighter I helped build. That headlight unit will be a problem, it was designed to be used on a 40 MPH woods bike not a 90 MPH street bike. You will outrun that headlight every time you ride after dark. I mounted a GS1100e 8in. Stanley headlight with a 100/55 watt H4 bulb, 12 gauge wiring and a relay on my YZF600 when I converted it to a fighter. It has enough headlight to be safe after dark.

Ha! Do ya think? I remember that setup.

Didn't the Brits use that same setup to scan the night skys during the Luftschlacht um Großbritannien?

Albert Speer used it first in 1934 at some sort of gathering in Nuremberg.

so you said you used a lamp off the gs1100, how did that go witht he headlight bracket on the fj? did you make a new one? use the old one or use the one off the gs1100?

JCainFJ

I had to make a new one, I do a lot of that these days.

That headlight is designed to be mounted on the fork tubes of a dirtbike, no way will it fit straight on to an FJ.... I doubt theres a way to do it and have it look good.

But....but, How can that be?  Bike Bandit says that it's for a FJ1200...see?  Should fit just fine. :dash2:
