ok i know this is a fj forum but im having a problem with another yamaha

so me and my friend bought a 92 yamaha seca 2 for 100 dolalars, i mean what a deal.
it cranks but there is sometype of fuel issue.

well when taking a look at the bike we noticed there was fuel leaking out of one of the exhaust pipes.....

i know this isnt a good thing and have an idea of what is wrong but can anyone else give me some advice on this? thanks

thanks for the links buttt i actually work for a motorcycle shop i can get my parts alot cheaper than that=D.....

What does your shop say? I suspect it's a float needle stuck open in the carb.

drain the fuel tank and the leak will stop.

Fuel leaking unburnt out the exhaust?  When running, means that there's no spark on that cylinder.  When sitting, means that the carb is leaking and you'll probably destroy expensive stuff when you start it up and that the oil is contaminated.

Part it out, make $400 profit, and buy something nicer.  Or buy a few more at that price and part those out.

Fit it. Learn something. Clean the carbs, just like a FJ. Those little 600's are fun bikes.
When floats stick on down draft carbs, fuel coming out the exhaust pipe is common.

ya i talked to the guys here were i work after i posted this and they told me that its the carbs, either stuck float, needle, hole in diaphram, something. I tore it apart and its very gunky and the needle it like gunked shut. So all it needs is a good cleaning and ill have it fixed, and i cant sell it, not mine, lent friend 100 dollars tell tomorrow for the bike. just fixing it for him.

got another issue with this bike, Like I said, I know this isn't an fj bike but its still Yamaha=D


we got it to crank, fixed the carbs and such, but now there is absolutely no spark, we checked the plugs and wires and everything is connected securely. In my experience its kinda rare for both coils to go out at the same time but I do understand it can happen with a short or something.


does anyone maybe know why we aren't getting spark? Honestly i think its the ignitor....
