Looks like fun, other than the utterly torched bearings....

But then taking things apart and making power is always fun.  At least, once you're done :)

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Look for ANY  damage to the bearing saddles in the crankcase. If the bearing spun in the crankcase, throw the case away.
The clearance on the bearings is small enough, that if there is damage to the saddle, it will eat the bearing again.

Sorry, those was connecting rod bearings, nothing to do with crankcase.

You see what happen when you try to burn rubber one kilometer.

Right side crankcase bearings

Same thing with the rods, toake them to a professional motor building shop and have the insides of the big ends measured for out of roundness.
Used rods are cheap to come by.

Sorry again, i put all connecting rods new and new crankshaft, if someone use those parts after that is little crazy.
I also can tell you that in my life i have rebulid about 60 different motor. so i think that i know something about motors.

Very nice, excellent work and a unique twist to the traditional FJ look.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side
