Never use RTV in an engine, unless the Mfgr recommends it.... in this case it would probably act as a lubricant, rather than glue....

Spot of grease here and there works nicely for holding that gasket in place while you very carefully and gingerly try to get it all lined up without it falling out and costing you 20 minutes of cussin to get it all ready for the next go...
