need some info on upgradeing my ignition sys.  I've heard of Dana2000.  How does this work and what does it do.  Would it increase power or fuel millage?

I have a Dyna 2000 on my FJ. It can make for easier starting, smother running and 2-3 more mpg then the stock FJ ignition system when used with a stock FJ engine. It is much cheaper then the stock parts, if you are having problems. If your stock ignition system is still working you may want to install an ignition relay, Dyna coils, and new wires and spark plug caps first. These parts will be needed if / when you do the Dyna 2000. The Dyna 2000 provides the most benefits when used on a built engine.

Jimmy, I installed a Dyna2000 with Dyna coils and plug leads about a month ago, when I found that my Kookaloo went missing.

Symptoms for me was spark breakdown at around 6000RPM. I replaced plug caps and leads initially and was going to replace coils next, but decided to pull the pin and replace the whole system when I found a cheap system on eBay ($236 form the US versus over Aus$500 local).

Install is quite simple with install instructions. What I liked the most was no need to even pull the fairing - I just disconnected the stock igniter box from the loom and put the Dyna brain box in the tail beside the tool kit. All the wires have sufficient length.

Result is that I have Kookaloo again, she fires on the first revolution of the motor and I get maybe 2-3% better economy.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.

so is this just a plug and play or do you have to do mapping with a pc?

JCainFJ

I have a very early Dyna 2000 system, and mine was a plug and play. I understand that the new systems do have the option of operater mapping with a PC.
