Welcome Trev, if/when you get your FJ, report to us to us on know how you think it compares to your Beemers.
As you see on this forum, if you like the basic FJ package there are mods you can make to the FJ which will really enhance the bike.

Cheers!  Pat

Hello again. To be honest I had forgotten I was registered on this site

I bought the FJ, it's a '90 3CV.  I'm pleased with it, just bought a Powerbronze flip screen and a second hand set of crash bars.

Tomorrow I'm have an Avon Azaro fitted to the rear, to replace the Bridgestone BT45.

The flip up Powerbronze screen is better than the std. screen, gives me more protection.

I paid £500 for the bike, so it was a bargain. It came with a Nitron rear shock, a full set of Nonfangio luggage, a new rear disc. S/S pistons in the calipers.

I've tidied the wiring up, as it had previously had an alarm fitted, it's removal left some pretty poor wiring.

Yes, I'm pleased with it. It took me a while to get used to leaning further forward than I normally do though!

This is as I bought it. Complete with the awful purple screen

Cylinder heads since spray painted as well.

Hey Trev,
Newby here.

Stay rubber side down.

For you Rowdy. :good2:

The screen cost £47.

In case you're wondering why the seat and side panels are off. Did you notice the extra white stripe on the fairing? This is reflective tape, I am about to stick some on the side panels as well. I commute about 50 miles a day, there's nothing quite like being seen. :good:

I had replaced the purple screen with an original Yamaha screen, but found that at speed, the wind was lifting my helmet. This has improved the situation a lot, a bit noisier though. I should add as a point of ref. that I am 5'10', with a 29" inside leg measurement. This may  or may not help you work out how it would suit you.
