Now, having a 1992 "A" model, if my ABS control unit failed, I'd certainly disconnect it and upgrade to something better before I'd ever consider paying 1/4 the cost of a good used bike for a single component.

Just my opinion, though. I'm sorry if this is for sale from one of my fellow members.

I'm not sure - maybe the guy thinks he will get lucky if he sells it for that price but I don't think it's right to over price something. But for a good story I just saw an ad on Craigslist where a bike was "free" it didn't have a picture but was a 450, likely an enduro,  and the guy said it was just sitting in his garage for the past three years but wouldn't start.  The post was deleted so some likely got it right away. hopefully someone that wanted a bike but couldn't afford it.  I actually think this is the right thing to do. There are bikes that people sell for four hundred that if you put in a thousand it would be worth a thousand. It's nice to see. I also like the ads where people post a list of the good and also the bad - no surprises two weeks later.

considering retail on a new control box is over $1200.00 $500 seems reasonable for someone who really wants to retain the system. Maybe a little high but not over priced.

The pump is the high failure item.  Probably why he's not selling one.

If anyone really wants one they can have the unit from my '93 no charge.  The ABS failed the second summer I had the FJ (bought new in Dec '95).  The rear brake locked and would not release with the ABS unit active.  It was just out of warrenty and the dealer was no help.  Too expensive to replace, so I just had the ABS unit bypassed.
