G'day Barry,

How ya been?
Yeah, there's quite a few FJ folks here and lots of (slightly) different ways to improve them.

This forum is usually pretty civil and helpful, and there's some very cluey guys that hang here.
Glad to see you're still around and still maintaining the FJMod site.

Cheers,
Arnie

Hey Frank great to hear from you too ! I've been good thank you.

Gave the bikes up a few years back as I needed to ensure I didn't have a 'big one'. I loved the bikes, especially the FJ, but I don't think it was matched by my ability to ride them.Never was good at going particularly slow either !

Got to admit that more recently I have been 'window shopping' !

Good to know you are still in the saddle Frank !

best regards

Hello Pat

Thank you for your kind words.

The site grew out of a fascination for the FJ, a truly great motorcycle. As time went by many people contributed by kindly allowing me to feature their machines, including a number here at FJ Owners.com

Since I dropped out of the scene there hasn't been a single week I haven't had an email from someone wanting to talk FJ, so I kinda knew that the enthusiasm for the ole girl hadn't died. It certainly seems to be alive and kickin here !!!

For a long time I lost ability to access the site, however more recently I've managed to gain access. So who knows, perhaps I'll find time to update it with some of the good stuff people have kindly sent me.

kind egards

Barry,

Yes i knew you were giving up the bikes but there is nothing wrong with a little self preservation.

Did you ever get into the drag racing we spoke of ?

KOokaloo!

Frank

Well I've certainly spent a lot of time watching Frank !!

I love the NHRA series in the States, so was a regular visitor. Haven't been over for 15 months or so now though. We have a Camaro that's nearly finished, but to be honest I may just let someone else have the pleasure, family priorities taking precedence at the moment really.

I did learn that two of the guys that contributed to the website, both involved in drag racing, have had bad accidents. Bob Shammas and Rodney Mumford. Bob's accident unfortunately left him in a bad way. I'm not too sure how bad Rodney's accident was, but it didn't sound good. Neither accident was on the strip.

Barry,
Glad to see you here! I'm a lifelong rider, but kind of a noob to the FJ. I have to say that I'm very saddened to hear that Bob Shammas has been injured. I read every word I could find about his turbo FJ, pretty amazing bike. Bob comes across as a very sharp guy and pretty humble. Just hate to hear about a fellow rider getting hurt. Prayers go out for him and his family.
                                                                                                                                                                                   KOokaloo, ya'all       Joe

Hi Joe

Yes it really saddened me too. There wasn't many weeks that went by without an enquiry from someone wanting more info on Bob's bike or asking to be put in touch. I last heard from Bob when he wrote me he was getting married a few years ago. I since learnt he had an off road accident some 16 months or so ago and had sustained bad head injuries. There is a rehabilitation fund website at :-

http://www.bshammasfund.com/

Whilst slow it does seem that Bob is making progress. I reckon a prayer for Bob will be appreciated Joe.

kind regards

Barry
