Hello,
I was thinking about getting some bar end mirrors and just wanted to know how to install them or if they are even compatible.
Thanks in advance!

Arnie

Most bar end mirrors have an expanding plug to hold them inside a tubular handlebar.
Since the FJ has a bar that is threaded, you'd need a "special" bar end mirror for it to work on the FJ.

If you do get them to work - I still would not recommend them.  They are well outside of your field of vision, requiring you to make a conscious effort to look down and see them.

A lot of bar ends mirrors are just a clamp on style (e.g. CRG mirrors) and if you can slide the the grips up about 1/2" you should have enough room to clamp the mirrors on your bars.   Or you could machine your bar end plugs to have flat surface...

When I got my bike it had bar end mirrors installed. They were the clamp on style, but instead of sliding the grips over, he had the bar ends machined. I took them off because I couldn't see well enough. If you want them, you can have them. I just won't be able to send them for a few weeks. I'll be working out of town.

I have them on my Suzuki DRZ-400 motard.  It took me all of five minutes to get used to them.  I scan my entire field of vision both when I ride and drive constantly so perhaps it was easier for me.  I don't know, but I thoroughly enjoy the elbow free rear view I get from the wider spacing.
