Cylinder bolts

Doing a renovation of the engine and my cylinder bolts was needed to change. So I got ordered some new from ebay. Was not able to get these from yamaha. four of these bolts are longer and I wonder where should these be placed. At the four corners or in the middle of the engine.

Yes, studs. 4 pcs are longer than the rest.

part nos 4,5,6,7 and 8...... that's for a '91..... just replace the /1991/ with whatever your model is.

Thanks for the link but it does not say the length of the bolts. So I'm stuck with my bolts on the table.

My guess is that they should be at the end where the oil channels are. But would be nice to be 100% shure.

The APE studs won't match your originals for length, as APE couldn't be bothered to do things properly. At least, they don't on the 90's.

Once your stud holes have been cleaned well, start checking how deep the holes are. Hint, they'll all protrude about the same once then head's on when you're done.

The four long studs are the two at each end of the block.

The length are the same but not the thickness.
Was not able to get orginal bolts from yamaha. The bike is starting to get old

Next time you are looking for engine parts let me know, I just sent out a new set of studs last week. I have no problem getting or supplying any part for the 1200 engine other than standard pistons & rings.
