2011 North East Summer Rally Information

Not a bad fire, eh?

Not bad, but NOTHING compared to the inferno I witnessed the last night of the 2006 ECSR.  Flames were no less than 50' in the air, and the diameter of this beast had to be perhaps 40' or so.  I do not gather this is out of the ordinary, either.

Funny little story: late 2005 I was considering attending the '06 ECSR.  I marshaled a couple of buds (Eric and Phillip -for those of you that remember) to take on the trek with me and I called down to make reservations at the KOA.  So, I ask the owner, not having actually met any of these lunatics before, "are these guys OK?" 

She replied "huh?" 

I reply "you know, no satanic rituals or anything crazy like that?"

She replies: "naaa, these boys are alright, their fires are a bit bigger than they need to be, but they're alright..."

Sure enough, she was dead on the money.

They moved the fire pit away from the apple tree, so we have room to escalate if someone tries to top it...   

Is the firewood order still 3 tons?

What we may have lacked in size,we made up in quantity.I believe there were TWO fires and SIX people.One fire burned for several hours with no one within thirty feet of it.Now that is true decadence.

Canadians going to the NE rally try to remember in Maine they sit on a 'sofa' not a 'couch' and its always 'x,y,zee' and never 'x,y,zed'.
