Well everyone.. my attendance at the rally is up in the air at the moment.  There are a number of things that are making it difficult...

Weather.. I haven't even put the key in the ignition of the FJ since last November.  To give you an idea of things, so far for April we've had nearly 6 inches of rain and only 3 days where it has reached 60 degrees.  They say nicer weather is coming but I'm not holding my breath.  This week we've had over two feet of fresh snow in the mountains and it's damn near May...

Mr. Bean the clutz..  While changing work locations I had a fall outside the building a couple of weeks ago in the rain and messed myself up rather nicely.  I slipped on some wet bricks while carrying stuff and went down on my bad foot.  While I did not break it again, I did sprain the foot and my ankle really bad.  I pulled the tendons off the bones again and likely tore up the scar tissue inside.  Also in the fall I tweaked my back (and such) from the base of my skull all the way to the bottom of my lower back bad enough my spine is pulled out of alignment.   I am able to walk and get around but I don't stand up quite straight and have limited movement.  I have my good and bad days. I am trying to see my chiropractor twice a week as required but there's something getting in the way of that..

Work...  Huge layoffs about a month ago in the I.T. department.  While I was able to remain employed but, my job and project were scrapped and I have been demoted back to the help desk along with my co-worker and now former boss.  I am the one person to handle the entire corporate office and getting coverage for anytime I need to leave is a challenge.  Things are bad enough it was nearly a week before I could get away from work to have my foot looked at.  I've had cancel appointments and even leave doctor visits because of being called back to work.  We are very short staffed and there are no plans to hire any additional staff.. ever.. We have a few other people at another location in Portland that cover our mile long manufacturing facility.  Plus we have to provide support for all of our locations scattered around the U.S.

With being short staffed and difficult to find coverage the chances of any vacation is very, very slim.  If the weather forecast holds for Sunday, I'll get the FJ out for a spin and see how my foot and back feel.  There still is a decent amount of time before the rally to get healed up but it is a wait and see thing.  If worse comes to worse I can perhaps make it down for a visit Saturday evening and ride back with Brian on Sunday morning.

I hope this doesn't come off as bitching, whining, moaning, etc.  It is not my intention.. Needless to say my mood over the past few months hasn't been the greatest thus I haven't posted much.  Hopefully I can get on the FJ this weekend for some mental therapy and do some wrenching on it.  Very glad I bought the lift table as there's no way I can work on the bike any other way right now.

Actually Bean, it's far more than I would of offered.  Sure sounds like you're trying out for 'Lightning Rod of the Great Northwest', and I hope you're far ahead. :flag_of_truce:

I hope things start to go a bit more your way, and we'll think of you (Drinks Bitch?) in Hayfork.

I am breaking my balls to make this rally, my boss is letting me sneak some custom things through the fabrication shop to finish my ass end modification. I want to meet as many of the WCR club as I can. Two wheels or 4, you can make it.

Garth, that sucks  :negative:

Bad weather , messed up health, job worries. If anybody deserves some time on a fj you do.

It will be an incomplete rally without out official fire starter there. :cray:

If you can get to the rally I could bring a Suzuki gs500 for you to ride.

try to get well and keep us informed. :empathy:

Garth,

Hope you get better soon and can make the Rally. Its in Hayfork so that will cut some of your ride/drive time off the trip. Hope you can make it.

Besides if you are not there Marsh will start the campfires :negative:

All is not lost.
Your current physical bother is ideal for taking a 'justified' sick day or three.
Gently exercising ankles on fj controls will be just the rehabilitating physiotheraphy your body needs.
Camping out on firm bedding will re-align the twists in yer back.
To avoid inclement weather travel south, which is a handy, California being placed as it is in relation to Oregon.
All is cured
See you in one month

Bad news, my buddy Paul aka "sometimes ya jus gotta lay her down" broke the tips of 2 of his fingers at work. Long and ring fingers....Nasty, major pain.
It's his right hand, nothing important going on with his right hand, just the throttle and front brake.....Anyhoo he will not make the WCR.
Therefore....I have a extra blue '92 ready to go....
