How do i remove the emulsion tubes?

I got the carbs out and i'm cleaning everything thoroughly but i have no idea how to get the emulsion tubes out.
How do i go about this?

The main jet holds them in from the bottom.
under the main jet is a washer.....and the emulsion tubes are just a push in fit from the top.

Once you take the main jet out you will understand how it holds the tubes in place by pulling them down onto the wash which in turn has a seat in the carb body.

Just poking at you, I didn't know either. Never took the carbs apart that far.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

one more question. should the needle on the diaphragm be loose? A couple of them i was able to wiggle a bit. The others were solid.

Loose....

They are spring loaded and the white plastic retainer places them all in a postion held towards the engine. If someone has cut the little tab off of the plastic retainer then they are floating around. They can actually be pushed upward slightly againt the spring as well.

If they are solid take them and out and see why the do not move.

I thought about getting some new emulsion tubes, I heard it helps with vibration. If I am doing that, should I just rebuild the carbs at the same time? Is this a laborious process? Will this help with high RPM vibrations? Are new Emulsion tubes really $50 a piece? :crazy:

You have to pull the diaphragm and bowl/main jet to replace them, so since you are half way there you might as well break them down and give them the full attention.

I have emulsion tubes in stock and they are $35.94.
