Here is my new helmet.......

Did you wind up buying the larger one and padding it out, or were you able to find a smaller one?

Dan

I was able to find a medium in Greenville, South Carolina. Compared to my HJC it is very snug, yet comfortable. A little noisier due to the amount of vents. But overall I am very happy. It is a Marine Corps thing. I had to have one.... :yahoo:

Not much to say about it really . I`ve got it fitted with bluetooth so the wife and I can chat . Other than that its a standard HJC helmet ....and I like it ,
Buy a car ? Why in the hell would I want to do THAT ???

This is what I have, it's an exo 1000. Got a good deal on it from New Enough. When it was new I didn't like it but now that it's broke in I really enjoy it. Doesn't vent that well though, and it's a tad noisy. Also wish the built in flip-down sunglasses were darker.

:good2:

I have looked at that helmet with interest.  I can see a few flaws which I hope you can dispel for me, but I kind of doubt it.  I'll list out my perceived likes and diss likes, you tell if I have it right please?

Likes:
*All integrated, no need for extra wires to/ from the Helmet.
*Has a battery on board -does it last?
*Speakers/ mic seem high quality, and professionally fitted, assuming this makes for good sound at most/ all speeds?
*Assuming fellow riders have the same helmet bike to bike works -have you tested this?
*I've read it's a pretty quiet helmet -true?
*Nothing hanging off the side of the helmet -love this!
*Bluetooth seems to good for Phone/ Music/ Nav -please confirm?

Diss Likes:
*Need to charge helmet -cost of doing business with an on-board battery I guess -is there any way to remove battery for charging?
*No way to hook into an FRS/ GMRS radio network -this is the killer for me I think.  This means that bike to bike must be done with others that have the same helmet.  Like the Scala/ Sena/ BMW system 6 options, the bike to bike network is on a proprietary frequency set.  I can barely get my knuckle head friends to show up for my motorcycle adventures, no way I can talk them into buying the same helmet as me...
*I have read where the helmet fits some but not others, and that it's not a great fit for folks that fit well in a Shoe (that's me) -concerning...

I think there is money to be made for a company like Shoe, or even an aftermarket company that retrofits a system (safely!) in to any helmet, (I know this is a liability issue) that is 100% on board, Bluetooth for up to ~5 devices, will work with a Bluetooth FRS/ FMRS two way radio (not even sure this exists yet -but it should), so there are no wires, all devices can be in your tank bag.  I'd pay a good $$ for such a system.  All te after-market systems I see use their own proprietary bike to bike -I guess to try to rope in group sales.  It's just stupid because, as I'm sure others have observed only FRS/ GMRS seem to have decent distance with a universally available frequency set.

What I want will eventually be there...

Thanks for your input

Dan

Dan,
I do not have the intercom system.

I really like the helmet though; very quiet and easy to manage eye glasses, and of course the built in sunshade which I use a lot.

Not nuts about the chin strap...a bit bulky under there ...or is that me?

Dan,
Re the two way radio issue:
How about something like the "SENA SR10 Radio Adaptor'?

Fluffy and I have half heartedly cocked about for years with radio stuff, bloody wires and shit all over the joint, we've always ended up back to using hand signals.
It'd be grouse to have a neat, wire free , reliable and powerful system though.

Thank you Klavdy.

Yes I have seen this.  Of these types, I think I prefer the UClear WT300, simply because it's stereo and has a remote, wireless PTT button. You do still need to plug in your peripherals, which is not ideal, but at least it can all sit in your tank bag. I still think all of this can be/ should be, all in the helmet itself -I think I'll keep waiting for the tech to catch up.

You know, when it comes to headsets  I'm solidly behind the Sena SMH-10 system.  It is just simply put the best system I have tried even compared to the uclear hbc200 system. (Well after the 4.2 firmware update)

Seeing this post makes me realize that I don't have a picture of either one of my helmets. I am going to go home and take some now lol.
