I went to my local exhaust maker and saw these pipes. They're car exhaust. Its very loud. :good2:

Arnie

No, they're very loud because they have no solid baffles and are so large in ID that the exhaust gasses just pass right through without being slowed down or the pulses modified much.
LOUD exhaust is nice for 1/2 hr or until the cop pulls you over for noise, but gets very wearing after a while.

the bike must be a bogged down ride with no backpressure.

Marsh will have to think of something else in regards to his potato cannon.  We've now got a dual grapefruit shooting FJ.

But hey.. if it is what he likes then more power to him..not my idea of an exhaust system upgrade, but to each their own.

A rice-rocket fart can........ I wouldn't.

Just curious FJman, how old are you?

they're not straight pipes. They have baffles to suppress the sound. But I have to admit the sound gets wearing after a while...

You sure you have a '84? I've never seen one wearing those colors.....

It's a fuzzy picture, but you've got the one piece rear grab handle, 6 spoke rear wheel, I can see what appear to be the anti-dive units on the forks, "Yamaha" on the rear caliper and the faring scoop looks to be on the small side.

Someone put a lot of work into painting it black and gold.  Even the wheels to match.

Is this the bike with starting problems?  ---bike won't start when it's hot -

Post up some better quality pics.........
I'd really like to see the colors on this bike......
Not a huge fan of the exhaust, but the bike appears great looking.....Hard to tell with the fuzzy picture....
This is the color scheme I am eventually doing on my '90
I already got the wheels done  :good2:

Glad you have found the problem.  I was going to ask if you were having the starting issue with the stock cans on?
