Okay, a few people seem to like the idea with a rally down here in Tassie, I am more than happy to organize things at this end, idea's for destination / trips, things to see, accomodation suggestions ect. The best time to have it would be Jan thru to March, I live in Burnie which is 30 min from where the boat comes in so would be a good base to start from. So what do you all think, lets get some names down and start getting this under way, the more the merrier.

Colin
Count me in.  Some mates tell me Feb is best due to a variety of events & festivals. I`ll be there around early January. Got any suggestions for a storage area for my return at final formalised Rally date? Doug (popcorn)

Hi Doug, good to see someone is interested, I should be able to help out with a bit of storage at my place, what is it you were looking at storing.

Wish to leave No.1. FJ in storage early january. (Flying back to Adelaide to pick up my car & camper trailer for an East Coast wander to the Sunshine Coast) Will fly back to Launceston (Been told ya gotta say Lonseston not Lawnseston??- ) around finalised Rally date.  Doug

Yeah that's no problem at all Doug, you can leave the FJ in my garage if you wish and if you were to fly in or out of Burnie at any stage I could also pick you up as it is only 15 min away.

Fantastic, many thanks Colin. Incidently I noticed there`s a bike race in Evandale 25th feb, also Launceston has it`s festivale feb 1oth. No doubt there`s an event or two in March also. (Maybe closer to Burnie?) Email me your thoughts on a Venue. Anyone else got any considerations towards a consensus to define date and/or Venue parameters?. (ie.Can we get Bike freight at backload prices from Perth?.). Doug (popcorn)

How about we have a head count of all the Aussies here and maybe think about having our own FJ Rally sometime. I realise were probably going to be spread out all over the place, but the riders in each state could probably meet up, then head to central (yes I no Australia is a bloody big place) point for a rally. I don't Alice or someting like that, that can be worked out later, sounds like a pretty good idea to me and i'm in Tasmania !!  Even if something like this was planned for 2012 I think we should give it a go. If there is enough interest then we can work out the finer details later. So come on put your name down and let's see how many of us are out there and what we can organise.

1.   Colin Reeve,  Tasmania.

Darryl Taylor, Karratha, NW WA. Wouldn't be doing a trip east tho, but would be keen on a WA meet.

How are the turkeys ?   :-)

Arnie

Do you realize that Tathra meeting was 10 years ago?  Time flies, huh?
Some, but many/most have gone their own ways.
Turkeys?  They're the ones that have changed bikes or stopped riding :-)
If you're asking about my feathered friends, they're gone too - at least for the time being.

Cheers,
Arnie

Has this progressed any further,
being a self employed mug, holidays are a thing of the past.
Tassie would be off my list,
but a central, day trip ride & over night stay, I would consider.

Hi Megsey, no it hasn't progressed very far, I think I will give up on the idea due to lack of interest, self employed - so am I, that should enable you to at least take a week off and enjoy yourself, that's what I love most about being self employed - your the boss.
I was hoping the rally would be a bit more than a day trip, anyway.

Visiting Brisbane at the moment, and having a good look at the hinterland (tin cage).  Nice riding country, compared to the west!
Off to Toowoomba for the day.

Bill.
