I just joined the board since I finally bought a 1989 FJ1200 after thinking about buying one for 20 years. It has a whole bunch of mods and looks like it will keep me busy for a while (enjoying some of the mods and making others a bit nicer and adding a few of my own).

This board looks like a great resource, anyone from CO?

The snow is almost gone!!!

Welcome Stephen.  I used to live in CO, Westminster, then Ft. Collins while my wife got her PhD from CSU.  We were out there skiing a few weeks back -good times.

Where about in CO are you?

IMO any man who has a wife that rides  (or understands riding) is a for sure lucky man  :good2:

We'll see how she likes those F1 pipes that came on the bike after a couple of hours on the highway  :empathy3:.

Arvada is basically a suburb of Denver. Just north of I-70.

I'm pretty sure I drove through Arvada when I was out there a few weeks back -on my way from the high country going to Boulder to meet some friends.

I bought my FJ @ Fay Meyers in Greenwood Village -South of Aurora.

I used to love to ride in and around the high country.  However, there was this one time (at band camp...) Got caught in an unexpected snow storm that was not all that fun.  It began to rain near Estes park.  We forged ahead south on route 7 20 miles in or so, the rain turned to snow.  It got pretty scary as the snow began to stick but we decided to make a brake for it.  By the time we hot I70, there was almost an inch on the road.  We stater heading east and by some kind of miracle, neither us dumped it.  We stopped for coffee once we crossed back into rain maybe 15 miles later.  Scary, but now I know that in a pinch, it can be done.

Any how, enjoy that country of yours, it's great riding.

Again welcome here.

Dan

Got her home today. That sure is a fun ride even though it was 32 and slight snow when I took her home. Surprisingly it took me about 25 miles to get the 10 miles home.
That engine sure puts a smile on your face.

Hi Steffen, upload to the gallery http://fjowners.com/index.php?action=gallery then copy the link to your post and it magically appears.

..or if the pic is already online somewhere, just post the link.

Still cold here, we just opened the season with the first 100 mile plus ride and the temp never went above 35 degrees and we got snowed on. But it was worth it. Being new on an Fj I just have to say one thing: That engine sure puts a smile on your face!

Let's try the picture thing again.
