That and Carey's truck!  Which I've had to borrow at least 3 times.  Only 1 of those times was for me, having to shop for a 16" rear tire in the middle of OBF Egypt.  Thus the source of the current Harley Cruiser tire.

Which, even with the el cheapo, temporary Stop n Go mushroom plug was showing the rear taillight to a couple of CBR1000RRs just 2 weeks ago.  Of course they almost plowed over me on the straights a few times.  We had a little talk at the next stop about the difference between corner speed and straightaway speed.

I told them that I could probably find them a Harley tire in their size.  :-)

+1...  Carey's trailer came to the rescue again at both the ECSR and ECFR this year, this fall behind his new truck.   :good2:

Just my opinion but I like to truck in the the rallys .

haul the bike and all the gear , like sleeping bags and pillows , radio , beer cooler and bbq equipment.

you get to drive in comfort , smoke , drink and arrive refreshed and ready to ride like the wind.

not to mention my truck is a service body equipped with every tool to rebuild a fj on the spot.

+1.  And Mark's spare sleeping bag has been tested & saved my bacon at '08 WCR.

Not a rally person, not a trailer fan....

But the only really bad thing to leave in after a ride is an ambulance.  Otherwise, it's whatever you have that you enjoy the best, if you're in too much pain after riding to have enjoyed it, then it wasn't fun, why bother!  Makes sense if you've got old bones or bad joints or an ass that can't handle the pounding for miles and miles....

However, Bob did leave his trailer home and used someone else's.

Do the customers know they're getting a free "road test"? Because I'd like to make sure it works before I pay.

No it was a friends who's getting out of racin (smart basterd), that way I didn't need to demo a new one.
Notice the strap on rear wheels thats because there were no tire chocks in front.   :dash2:
I'll use it again when we go VT.

I would have to say that in some cases, a trailer and a tow vehicle would be advantagious, and even welcome.
However Riding with Erich to and from the WCR this year was a very satisfying, and rewarding adventure (except for a stretch of about 5 hours around Santa Maria)
Experiencing the scenery, and the companionship on my FJ was, for me, far better than if I had done the same route in some other type of vehicle.  I would definately do the same again.
Thanks again Erich, and Thanks again Marsh for organizing.  :hi:

Anyway you get there is good!

The cross-country ride to and from rallies and such are some my best rides, though I did trailer a bike to Bike Week at Daytona one year.  I've always made it back with no problem, maybe I'll re-think that as the FJ and I get older.
