Wow!!!

For that price, he'll probably look at it for 31 more years.
It should be in a museum though.

Wow, what a find! Thanks for posting the link.

There was once a CBX in my collection, a long long time ago.

Sold it for $50.00 -

And never collected on it.

There was an article in one of the rags about a number of CBX's that are floating around the states that were never registered and given to high schools for their shop programs.  A lot of the teachers never knew what to do with them, so the bulk of them sat or were sold off.  The article was about one such bike, it's had a few miles on it from being pushed around and as far as was known had never been fired up.  A guy bought it, restored it, and still did not fire it up.

The CBX sold for $23,233. That's the highest I have ever seen a "mass produced" Japanese superbike go for.

Just imagine what it would of brought a few years ago, double or more.

Amazing

I know of more than a few Runes that are being held back for exactly the same reason - someday......

Speaking of the Rune, do not ever underestimate one, here is a video I took during a test ride a few years ago - watch the speedo on the tank:

Rune test ride

No matter what anything thinks about the looks, the Rune is a very good performing machine and the sounds it makes are incredible.

Gotta love a 6 cylinder motorcycle............
I heard a CBX one time with a 6-into-1 exhaust.......a friend of a friend owned, that I used to ride with in NY.
I always wanted one after that......if only for the sound it made..

I rode one after setting it up at the dealership I worked summers at.It was the first street bike that felt like the mx bikes I was racing at the time.It definitely was not a cb750.
I had ridden a benelli sie before, but only on a dirt rode.
The same shop had a kz1000 turbo, but I never rode it.The bike came nearly stock, and a dealer installed MrTurbo kit. That's a bike I wish I had ridden.

The snarl those CBX's produce is awesome.

I've got a friend in Atchinson KS who has one with a 6-1, sounds oh so good.

In comparison to "modern(er)" motorcycles, it feels slow, but I still like to ride it every chance that comes up.
