Well here's the story. After emailing Givi about the F297 top box fit kit for the FJ, I was told that Midwest Cycle had purchased the last two that would be available. Givi is discontinuing them :( Well I call Midwest and speak to Jay who tells me that he does have one kit left and it will be happy to sell it to me for $200.00 :shok: The retail price from Givi is $151.00 and CST was selling them for $107.00. When I tell Jay this, and he says that he is planning on ebaying it and he " is sure it will sell for much more than $200.00" :dash2:
If you see this on ebay how about we all just watch it and no one bid :diablo:

So  :negative: to Midwest Cycle!

YMMV

Well it's up for auction and someone has bid. :ireful: It started at $199.00. I know I may be a bit sour grapes over this, but I still think it sucks :shout: I just sayin' :negative:

I live here in Minneapolis, and just the other day I went into Midwest Cycle to buy some oil and discuss the Givi bags. I expressed an interest in this mount, a bag, or possibly some other combination; the salesperson was very familiar with this mount particularly, and he was pleased that it is currently being bidded upon and will sell. He was bragging to the effect that they were in the right place at the right time, and managed to buy out a large-ish quantity of discontinued Givi merchandise.

In a nutshell, he was pretty arrogant about the fact that they have the items, and that the market would ultimately determine the price. Regrettably, that attitude discouraged me from my ultimate purchase of a Givi bag system from them. I'll keep looking around for them elsewhere. Used is just fine for me...
