Well.. I guess it depends on what you break... If said item is yourself then it really sucks..

Broke my right foot Saturday afternoon.  Never broken anything before and I was surprised it didn't hurt more.

Don't know what's worse, breaking it or having to wait damn near 6 hours in the 'effing ER waiting room to be seen.

Not in a cast (yet), and have to see an orthopedic doctor this week to determine what happens next.

Guess my riding is done for the rest of the season..  Was hoping to get a few more thousand miles on the bike before our weather went to crap.

Sorry to hear that Bean!   :empathy2:   You can still ride - you don't need that rear brake anyways!

Arnie

Bean,

Now is the time to fit that Doohan style thumb operated rear brake.
Only thing to still hold you back is if you can support the bike at a stop.

Heal quick - get lessons from D'punet or Rossi

Cheers,

Arnie,
If I remember correctly from a few days ago, you were offering parts for sale from Lethbridge Vic. Is this where you live or just where the parts are?   I often pass through there, or very nearby, it's one of my backtrack loops to Apollo Bay.  In 30,000 k's over the last 2 years I have never seen another FJ on the road. Would be good to have a coffee and  spin some tall tales about all things FJ.  I live in Melbourne but am an old Geelong boy. If you think this a good idea make contact.

Bike is fine sitting in the garage.  It was something really stupid that caused me to break it.

Was carrying something out on the patio, took a bad step and twisted my foot under itself with all my weight on it.  Heard and felt two loud pops which were the tendons being ripped off the bones.  One of the tendons took some bone with it.  So I have bits of my 5th metatarsal floating around in my foot.

The ortho doc will be able to better tell what other damage there is.

If I could get my boot on, I might try and go for a ride.  :D
