Hey guys, I am sorry for being tardy in responding as of late. I am in the middle of remodeling a shop which I am hoping to have the majority done this weekend and then I will start moving.

I have been at my current location, where I built a shop on my parents property since I was a kid. My father retired several years ago and now that he is home, he needs area to work on his toys as well. This has meant we are trying to work on top of each other and we are out of space.

I hope to start moving next week while still trying to work as well. I do not have access to my email at home and hope to have the new cable system up & running late next week so I can get the computer to the new shop.

I am going from a 1000 sq ft shop here at my dad's place to a 2500 sq ft place and it seems big at the moment...

If there is anything I can get anyone, please let me know and I will be checking the emails and replying when I can.

Thanks, Randy - RPM

Nope, not going to jeopardize the repair to the injury. Between my kids, dad and the guy I hired to help, we are getting it all done. Should start moving in mid-next week once the alarm system is functioning.

Thanks,

Well, the day has come for the moving to start. We hauled a big load today in the p/u and small car trailer and will continue through the week. Going to be loading my 53" van tonight for tomorrows haul.

I will not be checking the email or website too  much over the next week so be patient if you are trying to reach me.

I also will not have phone or internet service at the new shop until 9/3 so I will have to drive out here to the old shop to check the email until then.

Thanks,

+1 randy. Don't over do it! You won't notice until 'the next day'! Oh, and when you are settled take a pic or 2 of the new shop and post it. We could then see where we order our parts from.
:)
when I got my garage set up I meant to take pics of it because I knew it would be the cleanest it would ever be.....I forgot...too late.

Good luck with the new shop! Hopefully you can get a couple of years in before you have to expand. Hahaha.

A quick update...

The moving has been going very well but I did not realize I had as much stuff as I do...

The second issue has to do with the ISP & phone provider. After waiting 2.5 weeks for the install they arrived last Friday and told me they could not hook it up and a "serviceability test" needed to be completed. This was to take place on Saturday sometime between 8 & 8...they never showed.

Multiple calls and they now have confirmed the "serviceability" and are scheduled to get it up and running next Monday. With this problem I do not have access to phone or internet until then except when I am at home.

If you have sent me a message to my personal email, something is now wrong there and I cannot reply due to an error that is now popping up. Working with the website/email provider on that problem as well.

So, with that said if you have sent me an email, I will respond as soon as I get things up & running.

Sorry if this has cause anyone any inconvenience.

Randy,

Sorry to hear that US telecommunications companies are as woeful there as here in Oz :-(
It'll get fixed eventually, but what a pain.  Shame you can't at least charge them over your lost time and business.

Cheers,
Arnie

Well another week has passed and still no internet or phone. A "supervisor" from Comcast finally arrived today at about 4:30 after two install techs had come & gone earlier in the day and told me; "This is a commercial building so it has to be a commercial account" and "we will have to trench the service in and it will take 2-3 weeks to complete".

Now, I explained the building and what I was doing to every single person I spoke to either on the phone or in person and none of these persons had the knowledge or the courage to tell me what needed to be done.

I told the said supervisor that I needed to give him a bill for my time and walked into my office to print one up for him. He walked in behind me and was surprised to see that I had kept track of each and every contact I had with anyone from Comcast including names and time spend. I gave him a bill for 4.3 hours or $279.50. He was gracious and took it with him telling me he was going to give it to his boss who lives in town as an example of the poor service and communication Comcast has provided to me. I also obtained the bosses email and as soon as I get the internet up & running he will be receiving the same bill via email.

I called the phone company and they don't offer an separated phone system since the business in the front has the service already and the address is not listed as separate suites inside of the one building; honesty and competence on the first call; quite refreshing.

I then called Clear Wire and within 15 minutes I have my internet and two phone lines ready to go once the modem arrives on Wednesday and the cost is the same. While I wasn't able to get TV through them, I will work on a dish system in the near future. Plus with Clear Wire I do not have to change the phone numbers since it is an internet based phone.

So, after another frustrating day dealing with Comcast, it looks like I will finally be up & running on Wednesday...I am looking forward to getting my email back & running.

Now my wife is looking into a different provider for my home as well. Obviously Comcast doesn't need me as a customer since they are the "only game in town".

Sorry for the rant; I just needed to vent a little...

Sorry to hear about the troubles Randy.  Comcast very much needs to be put in their place.

There's a reason I call them CONcast...

I'd be back on DSL in a flash if SWMBO would let me.

I talked into the Dish a long time ago.

That's tough Randy. Glad to hear you have a viable alternative.

The only reason I have not jettisoned Comcast (same issue, poor customer service to the point of being ridiculous) is keeping my email address. Best of luck on the new/expanded venture!

Clear Wire modem came in about 10 minutes ago. Plugged it in, hooked it up and I am already online and the phone works as well.

My email has already started receiving messages and it is telling me I have over 1500 new messages not counting the spam. I will be going through them today/tonight and hope to contact everyone by tomorrow.
