I know, right? What a stoopit thing to do!

Its a good thing, and I'm happy with how its worked out thus far. I will be back riding again for dang sure. If all goes right, maybe even before the rally. If not, that's cool too.

Stu,
When you get back to riding what do you think you will be on?? Just curious as to what your next ride might be.

Stu, I'll have a second bike at the rally - you can ride either of them.

We had an amazing ride on Labor Day, and Andrew is psyched to be coming to another ECFR.  If he won't willingly give up the Little Ninja, I'll make the FJ available.  But if someone is bringing a guitar, I bet we can distract him long enough to get in a good ride on the Ninja.

We should be just getting there about this time next week.  (I'm psyched too - I think I've been waiting for this day since about the first FJ rally!)

Get a ride on a lil' Ninja if you can.  It's more fun (and competent) that you probably expect.  I was on and off my little 250 -between that and the GSXR750, on our most recent trip to the Adirondacks.  I showed an indicated 115 for extended periods of time on the PA turnpike, it'll do it for hours (probably actually closer to 105 mph, but still...).  In the tight technical corners, a good rider who understands conservation of momentum, and throttle management, could EASILY embarrass the hell out of a mediocre rider on ANY other bike including the mighty FJ at more than 4 times the dispalcement.  While I guess that's a true statement of just about any bike, that the rider matters more than the bike especially in the tight stuff, it still always surprises me when I experience it in practice.

Well I hate to be saying this but Michelle and I won't be making it to the Fall Rally. Since I wasn't able to make the Spring rally I really wanted to make it to the Fall rally. But Michelle and I have been trying to figure out the best way for us to do motorcycle camping with the FJR. We tried doing it with just a tent, air matress, pillows and sleeping bags but that really wasn't enough. So we decided to buy one of these

So I wanted to take our new motorcyle camper and make our way down to Tellico and see my FJ family but Michelle doesn't feel she is up to riding the bike that far even if we did it in a couple days. So we decided to keep our vacation more local and tour NY,VT,NH and Maine. So because of that I will be coming to the 2011 ECSR for sure. So I send my best wishing to everyone attending the Fall rally and hope everyone stays safe and has a great time.

I used to pull something similar to that with my Goldwing, both sides of mine flipped out. I thanked goodness for it the year I went to the NC Rally in Cherokee....that was the year that Hugo hit SC. I woke up in Cherokee with about 3 inches of water under my camper....I was happy to be sleeping off the ground. You'll enjoy it!
