Uni Filter setup questions

Hi All, just fitting Uni Filter pods set up from RPM. Can I expect reasonable operation without any tweaking ? I understand some adjustments would be required for optimal performance but just experiencing massive issues getting it to run at all. Runs on choke, does not want to run at all without choke. Last time I ran the bike was about 9 months ago with the stock airbox and it ran fine (but they are terrible design aren't they!) Stock FJ1100 17000km. Thanks People. .

Carbs are plugged up from sitting. It will run without any adjustment when adding pods. It might have a slight mid range stumble without adjusting the needles and main jets but that isn't your issue. Your carbs are gummed up.

Seafoam is a good carb cleaner. It's magic stuff, but not instant magic. Add some to the gas tank before filling, according to label directions. Run the bike warm, then let it sit a day or so to get working. Repeat as needed. You should be able to ride as normal after that. Takes a coupla tanks to use up the Seafoam treatment, but I think you will like the end results.

Ahh..  not a product widely available in New Zealand but I'll have a look around.  I'm totally ok with carb stripping and set up, I actually thought before I'd even asked the question that cleaning might be the answer but always looking to avoid unnecessary deconstruction.  I already have spare new float valve sets etc...  ready for action!  Thanks

Any decent fuel-injector cleaner available locally should do the job. Ask around for advice from friends and mechanics.
