Dear FJ Group,

Thanks ever so much for allowing me to join you!

This is my my first post since joining.

I have a 1993 FJ1200 XW with ABS. I just fitted those blue spot calipers from an R6 and bought an early master cylinder from a Fazer 600 (1998-2003).
Will this master cylinder swap out as easy as I think with the original ABS master cylinder or will I have issues with the original electrical connector fitting this Fazer master cylinder?
I worry that as the FJ is ABS (I'm not concerned to keep this functionality as I am not certain it works) that the bike connector will fit into the 2 pronged one on the substitute.

Thank you so very much in advance for all your kind support and help.
Josh

Welcome Josh yes, if you want to use a non abs front master your ABS system will be become nonfunctional.
I did this modification on my friends 1993 FJ. The abs front brake plug is a 3 prong plug vs the 2 prong on the non abs master. A multi tester will tell you what prongs you use.
1) You need to pull the ABS bulb out of your dash cluster because it will illuminate thinking that something is wrong with the system.
2) You need to run dedicated brake lines from your nonabs master down to the calipers.
3) You need to remove the old front abs brake lines...follow them back to the pump and put in a M10x1.25 bolt with crush washer where the old front line connected to the pump.
Better yet, remove the abs pump entirely....if so, Get a new brake line from the rear master to the rear caliper.
4) You can leave the abs wheel sensors alone. No need to change over to non abs rims, unless you want to run better 17" tires.

Cheers

Pat.
