Hi all

Living in Prince George, BC, Canada.  Have an 87 FJ1200 that is a bit of an eBay special with 94K km's on it.  Been a great bike, hope to find some hints here to keep it going a while longer.  Am doing the steering head bearing right now.  Minor mod's, a 4 into 1, billet clutch, ignition advancer.  Doesn't pop out of 2nd, but doesn't necessarily like going into second.  Grand plan is to give the motor a going through this winter, see what I can affordably freshen up.  I've named her Roseanne, because she's loud, obnoxious, and wayyyy heavy.

Cheers

Hans

Could be as simple as shift linkage adjustment? Make sure it is clearing  the peg bracket.

Welcome Hans,

You've come to the right place to get help and hints and info.
I bet there is some nice riding up there around Prince George!  Are you close to the tundra   :unknown:(I dont have an atlas nearby.)? I hear the Northern Lights are spactacular up there too!!

cheers

No, the tundra is still another 1000 miles north, further north than I've been.  There are some ok local rides, better if you have a dual purpose machine.  But not too far from places you might like to see, the rockies are 2 1/2 hours east or 2 hours north.  7 hours west gets you to the ocean at Prince Rupert.  6 hours south gets you to the Okanagon which is the start of some GREAT riding.
