Well crap!!! Now my brother wants me to take his 2009 fjr1300 from him for $4000. Pay him when I can. It has 31,000 miles on it he bought a top box and side bags tank bag. He had the suspension reworked by some fjr suspension guru.  For him and his wife. And several other things. Rode it for a couple thousand miles. The he had to have spine surgery. And stopped riding it. Now I will have17 motorcycles. 16 bikes and a supersonic sofa. :dash2:

Help I have a problem!!

Have you ever ridden a FJR Dan? If so what did you think?  $3.5k- $4k sounds right.

Yes I rode his when he first got it. Very fast handled great. But way too soft in every way for me. Too removed from the pavement. Accelerated quite well. Was again to smooth a delivery. All of sudden you were going way too fast and you didn't know it. I'm used to the power of the 1350r you feel the power. I'm hoping that the rework of the suspension will stiffen it up some. That's why the fjr guys started calling them supersonic sofas.

My son has sort of been looking for an FJR.

Giantkiller,
The FJR stock suspension can be tuned manually, and probably more so with aftermarket upgrades.  Tires can make a huge difference with the FJR.  Most are too soft, but those with a GT in the name are built to handle the heavy FJR.  Tire pressures are important.  40F/ 42R PSI should be a good starting point, and a few PSI either way can really change the handling.  A too-soft front tire will "fall" into turns, and a few PSI too much will make the bike want to "stand up" in turns, needing constant corrections in either case.  In the golden middle, though, the FJR steers almost by thought control.  This gal can dance!  HOLD your lane firmly when you check traffic for a lane change, or you may find the bike changing lanes for you, traffic or not.  To me, the FJR is the closest thing to flying on two wheels.
Cheers,
Red

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

Yes I know it handles excellent. It was extremely fast. I just felt too disconnected. It did just go where I wanted extremely smooth and fast. I don't really know how to explain it. I couldn't feel the road. Almost I guess like I really wasn't needed to get around the corners it just did it. :scratch_one-s_head:

I'm sure most would say that means it's a great bike it just does it for you. I just like a little caos. Adrenaline rush as the 1350s power breaks the rear tire loose. Spinning as it drives you out of the corners.
But I guess I am getting older. And I don't heal as quickly as I used too. 35 broken bones and 47 pieces of surgical metal in me is probably enough.  I should be happy to have the fjr to take care of me.
I'm 62 and my body is starting to feel like I'm 108. Lol.
