Steve,

More than the looks, I'd suggest using a magnetic oil plug.  Lotsa aftermarket stuff out there, but maybe not aimed at the FJ1200 specifically.  Take your old oil plug in to a nuts-and-bolts seller, and they can give you the specs on the size and thread pitch.  With that info in hand, you should not have much trouble finding a new (maybe magnetic) oil plug.

If you use spin-on oil filters, you can (maybe) find a ring magnet that fits flat into the oil filter recess.  If ring magnets elude you, you can stick a super (neodymium) magnet to the bottom outside of the oil filter can.  When you change the oil filter, leave the magnet in place on the filter can, until the filter is off the bike.  The same magnet can be used again on the next oil filter.
My US$ .02 worth . . .
Cheers,
Red

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.

The early FJ had a course thread cap and the XJR had a fine thread. I do not know what year they switched.

No we don't have anything special for those.

We do stock the magnetic drain plug that Red is talking about but no fill plug
