Hey all

Ii have an european fj1200 1988, and its insanely lean at low rpm. I even have a standard style exhaust system.

How do you set your screws?

Fj1200 salesman: Sack?

I'm a UK member with a 1988 3CV and i've set mine at 2 to 3 turns out from the base.
The way to do it is turn the screws out and blip the throttle so that when you let go of the throttle the engine revs settle quickly into the tickover or idle speed. Any hanging up of the revs and it's not quite right.
When screwing down the idle screws don't overtighten, they need to be seated lightly.

Here's a shot from my battered Haynes manual. I've written on the page my settings, one for my old FJ1100 and one for my 1200. The manual states 2 turns out on the pilot screws for 1984 to 1990 bikes but it will vary depending on this and that but i don't know what.
