Quote from: giantkiller on March 26, 2025, 04:08:21 PMHey Pat. Can the 1100's run the same shock as the 86s? Then put the onlins on the 1350r.

Hi Dan....According to this: https://fjowners.com/index.php?topic=1983.0
The oem'86/87 shocks are (very) slightly shorter @ 289mm vs the longer 84/85 @ 292mm

If the Ohlins have length adjustability, you're golden.

Looking at the Yamaha parts numbers, oem 84/85 shocks are the same # as the 86/87: (36Y22210-10-00) https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/36Y-22210-10-00  (look under 'Product Fitment')

The major shock change happened in '88/89 with conversion over to the dog bone / relay arm suspension.

Cheers.  Pat

Thanks Pat I think the honda shock is slightly longer. I would be putting it on one of the 1100s. And putting the ohlins on the 1350r. So would probably be great.
