Thursday was another beautiful day and even better, the evening stayed warm right through until I got home form a local VJMC meeting at 11pm.

It was a glorious evening for riding.

My two FJ riding pals Pete and Chris, met up with me again close to my house (first photo) and we headed off together on a 40 mile cross country ride to the Northamptonshire Section of the VJMC monthly meeting. This meeting was also their annual Quiz Night event.

After thoroughly enjoying the 1 hour ride there, we settled for a spot of dinner (Lasagne) and then with the help of another non-FJ-riding pal (Colin) we only managed to win the Quiz. A small trophy, some wine, gift cards and VJMC regalia were our prizes, and......as we also won last year, a fair bit of good natured heckling took place (second photo).

The ride home was slightly more chilly and we took a short stretch of the M1 motorway along the way, which almost instantly went from 4 lanes, into 1 lane (due to roadworks), with a huge traffic jam. Luckily, with the help of polite drivers, who made room for us, we quickly filtered through the chaos and got to front of the queues in just a few minutes. Less than 1 mile from the start of the single lane traffic, was our turn off for the A5 link and we headed north towards home on a virtually deserted A5, giving the chance for my first real bit of Kookaloo

Hoping to have more fun with the FJ's at Mallory Park race track over the weekend - and praying for dry weather !!

We've had a good couple of days, weather-wise recently, but it was back to rain yesterday and temperatures will drop back to freezing over the next week or so........ But sitting is just around the corner and we're all going this year will be drier than last :sarcastic:

I'm just hoping for a dry Sunday, for my Mallory Park race track laps this weekend (they'll be gentle ones !!).  :good2:
