Hey all,

I've been around for some time, but I haven't made an introduction post before now. I thought I should share some information and photos with you.

I live in the eastern part of Norway, partly on the outskirts of the capital city Oslo and partly in the countryside in Innlandet county.

I got my FJ in the spring of 2023. Two previous owners, the last one had it for 36 years (1987-2023). When he acquired the bike, it had almost 10k kilometres on the odometer. He rode the bike for another 80-something during the next 15 years. The last 20 years the bike was mostly parked, but he drove it for a few short trips each summer just to keep it running.

The bike was in close to original condition when I got it. It had been maintained well enough. It was in need of some care, though, which brought me to this forum. The bike is many years older than me and when I take that into consideration, I'm more than impressed by the quality of the FJ.

I got the carbs cleaned and rejetted, treated the fuel tank for rust, installed pod air filters, changed spark plugs, wired the petcock and kookaloo'ed.

Here's some photos and a sound check video:

Besides what I mentioned in the first post, I've also rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. This weekend I'll have the front forks put back on, they've been off to have a leak fixed. Also need to get some lube into the choke cable or buy a new one. Soon ready for summer again.

I'm a fan of the Swiss made Spiegler lines, offered by RPM here in the states.

You should check Norway's legal requirements. e.g. TUV approval required?

Also, check with the UK FJ Owners club, they may have something closer to you.

Cheers

Pat
