You boys might want to crack open a cold one for this I know I am right now haha. Well after getting home from work I hopped on the bike to go and get a cover for her. (haven't named her yet so maybe that's why) Well when I got back from Walmart I got off the bike as you normally do, I opened the gate to my drive way and on my way back onto the bike my dumb ass jumped on her too quickly and I dropped her boys.  In doing so I broke off the bottom bracket for the front brake.

What are my options here? I will post more pictures soon of both of the front master cylinders. The left side seems like it was replaced at some point but not the right. I say this because the left side still has all of the black paint and it says to use dot 4 on the cap, and the right cap is just exposed metal and says dot 3 or 4. Depending on how things play out I would not mind upgrading both just too have more peace in mind.

Again any help is appreciated and feel free to roast me!! This is my first time putting a bike down and it did not happen the way I planned but thank you God that it happened at home where I could be reminded to stay humble. Cheers yall!

Also is that the flasher relay attached to the bottom of the bracket?

Not really seeing anything similar to it on partzilla other than,

JohnnyTheCraneGuy

Yeah T legg lol, I was scrolling through the 2 electrical tabs on Partzilla and I did not see a "Brake Light Switch" under those tabs so I was wondering if maybe it was under a different name/part number. I'm looking for Part #'s for replacing it, my bad for the miscommunication,

Again thanks for the input and any help is appreciated!

There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Yamaha still offers new parts that you need.
Here is one website that sells OEM parts. You can also support your local Yamaha dealer and order from them.

Front Brake Master Cylinder,

Hope this is helpful.
PS... the above parts listed are for a 1200, but are also the same part number used on the 1100.

Johnny (I assume!) - I might have what you need as spare.  I'd suggest a rebuild kit but might work as is.  Let me go rummage thru some boxes

Pat Conlon

Johnny, don't buy one, if Chris (fj1289) can't find one, I think I have one in my parts bin I can send you... is your brake lever ok?

PM me your address

That's me haha! Also after looking over everything again I'm still going too assume that the left was replaced at some point and now I just have another reason too replace the right. Left one even has the updated sight glass like the one on partzilla lol!

Also anything seriously would help Fj so thanks again in advance, also Pat I will go ahead and PM you those deets. I'm actually surprised at how little damage the lever took! Just a wee baby scratch on the tip haha

Your right side master cylinder isn't the original one either,  it's the wrong shape and the mirror mounting lugs looK wrong too. Does your bike have the strandard brake calipers?

Well guys, in image searching the pictures of the master cylinders I posted, too try and find out what the PO had replaced the original ones with this is what I came across.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/115708604945

Seems to be a generic Chinese product, probably explains the corrosion, quality of the cast, and lack of P#'s

I may go with this again as a means of getting her on the road again but I would definitely like too sooner than later upgrade the braking system entirely, cylinders, calipers, and at least the front lines are braided already so that's knocked out.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas though and take care!

The Master Cylinder you linked was a 14mm piston bore.
The oem FJ master is a 5/8" or 16mm piston bore.
If you are staying with your oem calipers, stay with the 16mm bore.
If you plan to upgrade to the Yamaha blue spot mono-block calipers, get the 14mm master cylinder.

No word from Chris?

Hold off and I will be home tomorrow and check my parts bin. I'm almost positive I have a 5/8" master in there. I'll get it in the mail to you by Friday.
