I purchased this bike a few years ago when I moved to California because it was my dream bike when I was a kid. I already had a Yamaha Super Tenere and an old Honda Scrambler, but thought it would be fun to have an old school sportbike to ride the Pacific Coast Highway and the amazing twisties in California Central Coast wine country.

I found this FJ at a dealership in LA with just under 20K miles on it for $4200, and being a race car crew chief, did what I typically do, and dove headfirst into making upgrades.

I spent $2404 at RPM (receipt in photos) and another $800 or so at Cycle Gear in San Luis Obispo. Upgrades include - new braided brake lines, new rotors and pads, new tires, bar risers, new NGK plugs, battery, complete carb rebuild and sync, new rear shock and spring, new progressive fork springs, seals, damper, oil, and brace. It currently has 21,327 miles on it.

Mechanically it is fully sorted, but it has a few cosmetic issues (pictured) - Small chip on the right side of the tank, some small stress cracks in the plastics, and rock chips on the lower front of the frame. The horizontal plastic piece between the tank and fairing is is rough shape. There are a few scratches on the right air intake. The ABS has been carefully removed, but all original components are included.

I am moving onto a sailboat for a few years in early December and I need to sell it before departing.

It's located in beautiful Paso Robles, California and it has a clean title in my name.

I do not follow the market closely, but it seems like most in this condition sell for between $3500 and $4500, so if you're interested, make a fair cash offer and let's make a deal. It needs to go bye-bye.

PS - apologies for the cobwebs. That shows how much I've ridden it!

For clarity, I am open to ANY reasonable cash offer. In re-reading my post, I didn't make that clear.  Thanks, Pete

A little more details from one of his prior posts - lot of nice upgrades - especially the rear shock
