The VIN sticker on my '84 is looking a bit tattered and seems unlikely to survive my planned repaint; does anyone know where I could get a replacement sticker?  I'm based in Canada, but ww shipping on a sticker shouldn't break the bank.

Take a high quality photo of it and have a new sticker printed

Canuck,

I do not know the Canadian motor vehicle system, but I would ask the local licensing authorities about the problem, before I got too creative.  Personally, I would not be concerned if the original VIN plate looks shabby, as long as they can read it and issue good paperwork to you.  Protecting whatever you have there may be the simplest solution.  YMMV.
Cheers,
