Ive technically been a "fj owner" for a few months now but I feel Ive earned the title now. I purchased a 56k mile '84 1100 from my friend for $450 back in march. After cleaning the tank and having the carbs rebuilt by RPM, I can say the bike is somewhat road worthy. Overall Id rate the bike a c+. My newest purchase on the way are some vents, although the incorrect color...Im slowly bringing it back to its full glory.

Welcome to the campfire, not like you need any heat right now.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Nice bike and loving the seat - but pleeeeeease.......... before you go any further, put some proper protective gear on when riding her - even a 15mph fall will take off a load of your skin from your arms, back, knees, ankles etc (there's no point wearing gloves when the rest of your arms will be ripped apart).

These FJ are awesome bikes and a load of fun, even though they're up to 40 years old now  :good2:
