Quote from: Pat Conlon on September 26, 2023, 11:54:43 AMThe advance runs off a vacuum signal on an easy way to see if you have the advance is to look for the vacuum line, typically connected to the #2 intake manifold. The gravity flow bikes ('84-87) will have the petcock vacuum line connected to the #1 intake.

Pat, if I want to get rid of the vacuum advance on my 86 do I just take off the vent hose from the #2 intake and put a cap on it? Do I need to plug the hose that goes to that computer module? Any other stuff to do or is it that simple and that will stop or reduce the popping on decel?

Just cap off the port on the intake manifold, leave the hose open.
It's hot in that location so use the oem heavy rubber caps with the spring compression bands.

Don't use the thin walled automotive vacuum caps, they will split open from the heat. Lesson learned.
