Shifter replacement

 I screwed up and purchased a shifter from rpm that I thought was for the fj but its for the racing cars, what have you fellow Fj folks done
for your sloppy worn out aluminum shifters. Is this a search and find mission.

My shifter is not aluminum, but chrome plated steel. What wore out on mine (@180k) was the shifter bolt...not the shifter itself.  New harder stainless steel shifter bolts are available from RPM

If the bore of the shifter is knackered, maybe drilling it out and pressing in a bushing would work?

Or eBay buying a good used one...

Yes Pat its the shifter bore badly worn, the rest of it is fair. I thought maybe I could modify this steel unit
but the ball stud and socket and rod stopped me pretty quick. My XRL had same issue and where the split is on the shifter I removed some material with file thinking I could get more clamp down when putting bolt through shifter but it was so worn it hardly made a diff. I blame the other 28 years the ITX was not in my care.

Quick search found one for 10 bucks. Several others on  flea bay.
