What a brilliant day out at Cadwell Park Race Circuit on the FJ yesterday.

Thoroughly enjoyed the chilly early morning 105 mile ride there with some great friends.

Cadwell Park Circuit is one the most beautiful in the UK, running though both woodland and open fields, with narrow tight twisty sections as well as fast open flowing sections.....and a "jump" (the mountain).

The racing we watched was great and the weather warmed up nicely as sun broke through and the weather was perfect, but the lunchtime track laps on the FJ were a huge laugh - she had no difficulty keeping up with (and passing) some much more modern bikes.

After another 105 mile journey home the old FJ performed flawlessly over the whole 240 mile day, still averaging 50mpg overall.....

Hopefully someone got some better shots of the FJ on the lunchtime laps which I can post up later !

I see a few Sport-Touring bikes mixed in with you. A couple of VFR's, FZ1, a 1st gen R1 and VF1000R.

Looks like you had a great day there. Isnt it any restrictions on the bikes when you did the lunchtime tracl laps? i mean like safetywired oilplug tape over
glass ets ? Can you just run stock bikes on the track?

Millietant

It does depend on the track, the even bit and the organisers.

All bikes are scrutineered before being allowed on track, but because it not a "race" situation, lockwiring, oil catch trays  and taped lights/lenses are not required.

The laps were marshalled, but the great part was that if you start slowly on the first lap, you can get a good distance behind the lead marshal and then have great fun ripping along to catch them - but they're not going slowly anyway  :sarcastic: :sarcastic:

Yes, but only been a member for about 15 months. I live right on the border between 2 Sections, so I join in with both of their events. It's a brilliant Club in the UK, lots of activities and benefits as well as great people.

Members who display their bikes at events get free entry and lunchtime track sessions.  :good2:
