So, let's try a Pikes Peak Run again this year. Last year's event was a success even though we failed to reach the summit.
The dates for this year's Pikes Peak Run will be July 14-16. Just like last year, a Timed Permit and Entry Pass Reservation is required. There is a limited amount of Time permits available. Make you purchases as soon as possible.

a Timed permit and a Reservation are required. the Timed permit is for a 2 hour window. I have already purchased mine for the 10:00am-12:00pm block on July 15th. here is the link to make your permit and reservation purchase.

I will be tent camping here.

if Camping is not for you, there are plenty of Hotels/Motels in the area.

Anyone from the Wichita area or Western Kansas that may want to make the 500 mile ride with me. My plan is to leave Wichita early Friday morning to beat the heat. 6:30am or so. Ride 54/400 out to Dodge City and pick up US50 to Pueblo, than the Interstate up to Colorado Springs.

On Friday upon arriving into Colorado Springs. My thoughts are, dinner at the Airplane Restaurant. Say 6:00pm?

Saturday morning everyone will meet at the entry gate for the ride up Pikes Peak. Try and be there 9:30-9:45. KSU at 10:00.
We should be able to get up to the Summit and back down by noon or so. The plan for Lunch will be at Rudy's BBQ near Manitou Springs.

A couple of photos from last year's event.

Looks like fun, I'm in!  Got my 7/15/23 pass for 10:00am-12:00noon time slot. Not sure where to stay, Cascade or Green Mountain Falls or Woodland Park. I know I don't want to stay in Colorado Springs, too big city.

Not sure I'll want to ride down to the city go to dinner at the Airplane restaurant.

That is awesome to hear. It will be great to see you. Looks like my Daughter will be accompanying me.
As for traffic and Colorado Springs. The city is the same population as Wichita. Stay on the surface streets and traffic is not bad at all.
